Robbery spree in Salento, Italy nets about €30,000 from three businesses

In a series of attacks across the Salento peninsula, armed assailants targeted three locations on the same day. At the Ladybet srl office in Racale, two masked men forced an employee to hand over cash estimated at €30,000. Later that evening, three individuals armed with knives robbed the Camer service station in Lequile, taking several hundred euros. In the early afternoon, a man entered the De Donno pharmacy in Maglie, threatened staff with a toy‑like weapon and stole a few dozen euros.

Police investigations by the Carabinieri linked the incidents through surveillance footage and witness statements. A 50‑year‑old resident of San Cassiano, already known to law‑enforcement, was identified as the primary suspect and has been placed under investigation while remaining free pending further legal action.
