Robbie Farah endorsed to succeed Michael Cheika as Lebanon coach
Michael Cheika has endorsed his assistant, Robbie Farah, as a potential successor for the Lebanon Cedars coaching position. Cheika, who is returning to the Waratahs after finishing his rugby league commitments following the World Cup, stated that Farah is “the best equipped around the Lebanese team” and sees him as someone who can definitely lead the team in the future.
Farah, a former Wests Tigers player who previously served as an assistant coach under Benji Marshall, expressed openness to the role while noting his relative inexperience in coaching. He emphasized his passion for giving back to the Lebanese team and his desire to learn from Cheika’s extensive expertise in both rugby codes.
The coaching transition follows the announcement that assistant Matt King will depart to lead the NSW Origin team next year.
