Robbie Fergusson appointed head coach of Glasgow Warriors women's team
Robbie Fergusson has been named head coach of the Glasgow Warriors women's side. In addition to leading the club programme, he will serve as an assistant coach for the Scotland women's national team during the autumn WXV Global Series.
Fergusson, 32, is a former Scotland and Great Britain Sevens international who competed at the Tokyo Olympics, the Rugby World Cup Sevens, two Commonwealth Games and captained GB in the HSBC SVNS Series. He overcame Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2014 and later played 15‑a‑side rugby for Ayr, Glasgow Warriors and London Scottish. His coaching résumé includes directing rugby at Ayr and the Ayrshire Bulls, and a stint with the GB women’s Sevens team.
Scottish Rugby Head of Women’s Performance and Pathways Andy Rhys‑Jones praised his “high‑performance experience” and understanding of the club’s identity, while Glasgow Warriors Managing Director Kenny Brown called the appointment “another exciting step” ahead of the 2026/27 Celtic Challenge season.
