Robbie Williams named National Album Day ‘Album Icon’

Robbie Williams has been named the ‘Album Icon’ for National Album Day 2026. To mark the occasion, his 2000 studio album, ‘Sing When You’re Winning’, will be reissued as a limited-edition two-LP red and blue vinyl set. The records will play at 45rpm, consistent with the original version.

National Album Day, organized by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA), aims to celebrate the art of the album. This year’s theme is “Icons”. Williams, who has achieved 90 million album sales and 16 number-one albums, stated that “albums still matter” and expressed his support for the format.

The event, which includes themed coverage on BBC Radio 2, features Williams alongside other icons such as PinkPantheress, Max Richter, and Melanie C.
