Robby Krieger announces passing of wife Lynn Ann Veres

The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger has confirmed that his wife of over 50 years, Lynn Ann Veres, passed away peacefully at age 79. Krieger shared the news via social media, noting that he and their son, Waylon, were with her until the end.

Veres was the inspiration for the 1971 Doors hit “Love Her Madly,” which reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Krieger previously described her “fireball spirit” in his 2021 memoir, “Set the Night on Fire,” stating she was the only person who truly let him be himself.

The couple married on Christmas Day in 1972.
