Robco achieves unicorn status with $40 million funding round
Munich-based robotics startup Robco has achieved unicorn status, reaching a valuation of over $1 billion following a $40 million funding round. This latest investment doubles the company's valuation in just nine months.
Robco specializes in a modular industrial robotics stack designed for rapid deployment. The system allows individual hardware modules to be installed and operational within one to two days, significantly reducing the traditional lead times associated with robotics integration. The company plans to use the new capital to accelerate its expansion into the United States, utilizing digital twin technology for configuration.
Investors in this round include existing international backers such as Sequoia and Lightspeed, as well as new participants including Cherry Ventures, the European Tech Collective, and the venture capital arms of Volkswagen and the Agnelli family. Since its founding in 2020, Robco has raised more than $200 million in total funding.
