Robco achieves unicorn status with billion-dollar valuation

Munich-based robotics startup Robco has reached a valuation of over one billion dollars following a recent funding round. Founded in 2020 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich, the company develops scalable industrial robots integrated with artificial intelligence.

Robco’s modular technology is designed to perform tasks such as palletizing goods, deburring, and engraving, making automation accessible to smaller enterprises. Founder Roman Hölzl noted that the company has sold approximately 1,200 robots to date. The company is currently focusing on expansion into the United States to compete against low-cost robotics manufacturers from China.
