Robert Andrich faces transfer amid role change at Bayer Leverkusen

Robert Andrich, a 31-year-old midfielder for Bayer Leverkusen, has become a candidate for transfer following a shift in the club's internal hierarchy. Leverkusen has informed the player that he may seek a new club, despite having a contract that runs until 2028.

Bayer Leverkusen coach Carles Martínez has stripped Andrich of his captaincy, appointing Edmond Tapsoba as the new leader instead. Martínez stated that the situation remains unchanged and noted that he does not currently communicate with the player, viewing him primarily in a reserve role.

RB Leipzig is reportedly monitoring the situation, as Andrich's profile aligns with the tactical needs of their midfield. While his market value is estimated at 6 million euros, Bayer Leverkusen is seeking a fee of approximately 10 million euros. If the transfer occurs, Andrich could become the most expensive player over the age of 30 in RB Leipzig's history. A decision is expected before the transfer window closes this coming Tuesday.
