Robert De Niro expresses concern over America's political future

Actor Robert De Niro has expressed deep concern regarding the current state of the United States during discussions surrounding the documentary ‘Tribeca25’. While promoting the film, which chronicles the history of the Tribeca Film Festival, De Niro noted that he is ‘preoccupied’ with the country’s direction.

Speaking at a People Inc. event in New York City alongside Jane Rosenthal and director Matt Tyrnauer, De Niro remarked that the nation's challenges now appear to come ‘from inside the country’ rather than from external threats. He compared the current political climate to the period following the September 11 terrorist attacks, emphasizing the importance of educating younger generations to prevent history from being forgotten.

The documentary ‘Tribeca25’ explores the festival's origins as a civic response to the 9/11 attacks and was released on Netflix on September 11.
