Robert De Niro reacts to Heat 2 casting rumors

Robert De Niro has commented on casting rumors for the upcoming film ‘Heat 2’, a project directed by Michael Mann that serves as both a sequel and a prequel to the 1995 classic. Addressing speculation that Stephen Graham will take over the role of Neil McCauley, originally played by De Niro, the actor expressed a positive view of Graham, describing him as a “great” actor, though he noted he is not deeply involved in the current development details.

The production, which has moved from Warner Bros. to Paramount before ultimately landing at Amazon MGM, is expected to begin filming in November. The project is based on a novel written by Mann and Meg Gardiner. Reports indicate that the cast will feature Christian Bale as Vincent Hanna and Leonardo DiCaprio as Chris Shiherlis. The shift in studios was reportedly influenced by budget considerations, with Amazon MGM providing the necessary production backing.
