Robert Doisneau photography exhibition opens in Modena
A major exhibition dedicated to the work of French photographer Robert Doisneau is opening at the Palazzo dei Musei in Modena. Running from September 24, 2026, to January 24, 2027, the showcase features 135 silver gelatin black-and-white prints.
Produced by Silvana Editoriale and promoted by the Municipality of Modena, the collection includes vintage prints sourced from the Atelier Robert Doisneau in Montrouge. The exhibition avoids a strict chronological structure, instead creating a dialogue between various settings such as assembly lines, bar counters, village festivals, jazz clubs, and school classrooms.
Doisneau, a pioneer of French humanist photography and street reportage, is renowned for capturing the daily life and spontaneous emotions of Paris and its outskirts. The exhibition aims to highlight his poetic and gentle approach to documenting the human condition.
