Robert Eggers honored at Sitges Film Festival
Director Robert Eggers returned to the Sitges Film Festival, where he was honored with the Màquina del Temps award in recognition of his impactful career. Eggers, who first visited the festival in 2015 to present his debut feature 'The Witch', reflected on the film's significance, stating, “That movie was here and it is the movie that changed my life.”
During the event, Eggers was joined by Anya Taylor-Joy, the star of 'The Witch'. Taylor-Joy discussed her career trajectory, noting that she previously turned down a six-year commitment to host a Disney program to pursue a more diverse and chameleon-like acting path. The festival also featured a screening of 'The Witch', which is now regarded as a modern classic of the genre.
