Robert Eggers' Horror Film 'Werwulf' Announces Trailer for June 29
Director Robert Eggers' next gothic horror picture, "Werwulf," will debut its first official trailer on June 29, timed with a full moon. The teaser, presented at CinemaCon in April, shows a bleak 13th‑century English village haunted by a werewolf legend and features a rapid montage of terrified townsfolk and a violent transformation scene. The film, shot on 35 mm film in a 1.37:1 aspect ratio, stars Aaron Taylor‑Johnson, Lily‑Rose Depp, Willem Dafoe, Ralph Ineson and Bodhi Rae Breathnach. Eggers, who previously directed "The Witch," "The Lighthouse" and "The Northman," described the script as the darkest he has ever written. "Werwulf" is slated for theatrical release on December 25, 2026 in the United States, with a Dutch opening on January 7, 2027.
