Robert Eggers releases second trailer for ‘Werwulf’

A second trailer has been released for Robert Eggers’ upcoming film, ‘Werwulf’, a dark period piece set in 14th-century England. The film is described as a harrowing tale of devotion and damnation, featuring dialogue spoken in Middle English.

Directed by Eggers and written by Eggers and Sjón, the movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as a man cursed with being a werewolf, alongside Willem Dafoe, Lily-Rose Depp, Ralph Ineson, and Kate Dickie. Early footage presented at an event in Los Angeles depicts a visceral, grim atmosphere characterized by mud, rain, and darkness.

One preview of the film's first half shows a violent werewolf transition involving Taylor-Johnson’s character. ‘Werwulf’ is scheduled for release in cinemas in the UK and Ireland on 1 January 2027.
