Robert Eggers' Werwulf horror film releases first poster

Focus Features unveiled the first official theatrical poster for Robert Eggers' upcoming horror movie Werwulf. The image shows Aaron Taylor-Johnson's unnamed protagonist in the midst of a frightening transformation into a werewolf. The poster also highlights Lily‑Rose Depp as the farmer's loyal wife and Willem Dafoe as a hunter tracking the beast in a fog‑shrouded 13th‑century English village.

Eggers said the film deliberately avoids classic werewolf clichés such as silver bullets or bite‑induced transformation, opting instead for a mysterious, shadow‑filled approach likened to the original Alien. He emphasized the story’s focus on a cursed man seeking salvation through love, with only a dog among the named characters. Werwulf is slated for an exclusive theatrical release this Christmas.
