Robert F. Kennedy’s former NYC co-op sells for $1.99 million

The former New York City co-op of Robert F. Kennedy has sold for $1.99 million following a bidding war. The residence, located at 870 United Nations Plaza, is being sold for the first time in over 50 years.

Kennedy purchased the 2,000-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment in 1965, using it as his official residence while serving as a U.S. Senator. The unit is described as a mid-century modern time capsule, retaining original kitchen appliances, marble baths, and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the UN garden and the East River.

The property originally hit the market last fall for $1.79 million. Although a previous contract for $1.99 million fell through, the home has now successfully closed at that higher price point.
