Robert Fico to propose dismissal of Minister Tomáš Taraba

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has indicated that he will propose the dismissal of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment Tomáš Taraba. The move follows a coalition council meeting and aligns with the terms of the governing coalition agreement, as the SNS party—Taraba's political group—has requested his removal.

Ján Richter, chairman of the Smer-SD parliamentary club, stated that the dismissal is expected to occur in the near future to uphold the coalition contract. While Fico expressed regret over the political situation and noted that he does not always understand the current state of Slovak politics, he thanked Taraba for his work and described his decisions as high quality.

Fico also suggested that further significant decisions regarding the government may be made within the next two to three weeks to address the current political landscape.
