Robert Golob criticizes Slovenian government at Freedom Movement picnic
Robert Golob, leader of the Freedom Movement (Gibanje Svoboda), criticized the current Slovenian government during a party picnic in Opatje Selo. Golob expressed concerns regarding high food and energy prices, noting that his party has proposed legislation to temporarily limit oil trader margins, which the National Assembly will consider next week.
Golob also addressed international relations, advocating for the respect of international law as a means to protect national sovereignty. He specifically criticized Prime Minister Janez Janša’s recent address to the UN General Assembly, arguing that Slovenia should not be subservient to foreign interests. He characterized the government's decision to halt a joint European statement regarding violence in the West Bank as a ‘great shame.’
Furthermore, Golob announced that the Freedom Movement has filed a proposal for a constitutional impeachment against Prime Minister Janša. He concluded by urging citizens to participate in upcoming October referendums.
