Robert Habeck discusses local democracy with Lüneburg Mayor

Former Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck participated in a public discussion at the Wienebüttel Culture Forum, where he interviewed Lüneburg's Mayor, Claudia Kalisch.

During the 80-minute session, Habeck questioned Kalisch on her experiences over the last five years in office and how local municipalities can combat the crisis of democracy. Kalisch reflected on managing various crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the energy crisis following the invasion of Ukraine. She highlighted the importance of community resilience, noting that the city conferences she initiated have become a permanent fixture for addressing local challenges such as volunteerism and culture.
