Robert Herjavec named in ONEflight jet-card lawsuit
Investor Robert Herjavec has been named as a defendant in a lawsuit filed by Mark Heimbouch against the now-defunct private jet charter broker ONEflight. The lawsuit, filed in the US District Court for the District of Colorado, alleges that Herjavec’s endorsements and reputation as a successful investor provided the confidence necessary for Heimbouch to entrust more than $741,000 to the company.
Heimbouch claims he wired an additional $95,000 to ONEflight on September 15, just one day before the company suspended flight services. The complaint alleges that sales staff assured the customer of the company’s financial health to secure further deposits. ONEflight, based in Englewood, Colorado, operated by selling prepaid jet cards for future travel, but CEO Ferren Rajput previously stated that customer funds were not held in escrow.
Herjavec has denied having an ownership stake in ONEflight or any prior knowledge of its financial instability. He described himself as being “completely fooled and deceived by this company and its founder” and indicated he is preparing his own legal action against the firm. The lawsuit also names CEO Ferren Rajput and sales executives Mark Dismuke and Mark Sanchez.
