Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital ranked best in UK

The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) in Oswestry has been ranked as the best in the United Kingdom for patient experience. According to the Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) annual Adult Inpatient Survey, the hospital achieved an average score of 9.35 out of 10.

RJAH was identified as one of only eight trusts in the country to be placed in the top band for results considered ‘much better than expected’. The hospital outperformed most other trusts in 43 out of 51 relevant survey questions and did not rank below average in any category. Additionally, 83% of patient responses were positive, the highest proportion recorded nationally.

The survey, which gathered feedback from over 62,000 patients across England in November 2025, saw a 66% response rate from RJAH, significantly exceeding the national average of 38%. Chief Executive Stacey Keegan attributed the results to the skill and dedication of the staff, noting that the positive feedback spans clinical teams as well as catering and housekeeping departments.
