Robert Kibochi launches military memoir ‘Arrowhead’

On 25 September 2026, military leaders and officials gathered for the launch of ‘Arrowhead’, the memoir of retired General Robert Kibochi. The event served as a reflection on military service and the importance of preserving institutional memory within the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

General Kibochi, who served as Kenya’s 10th Chief of the Defence Forces from May 2020 to May 2023, began his military career in 1979 as a trade cadet. He was the first officer from the Signals Corps to reach the rank of full General and command the KDF.

Chief of the Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri described the memoir as a significant contribution to Kenya’s military history. He encouraged officers to document their experiences to create a “vault of wisdom” for future generations, echoing previous calls by President William Ruto. Former Defence Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Raychelle Omamo also attended, noting the book's importance as a record of Kenya’s military heritage.
