Robert Kiyosaki warns inflation erodes savings, urges gold, real estate

Finance commentator Robert Kiyosaki says ongoing inflation is steadily eroding the value of savings, pensions and other cash holdings. He attributes the loss of purchasing power to the United States’ 1971 decision to abandon the gold standard, which allowed a far larger expansion of the money supply.

Kiyosaki recommends investors protect their wealth by shifting into hard assets that cannot be created in unlimited quantities. He highlights gold as the primary safeguard because of its limited supply, and also points to real‑estate and other tangible investments as beneficial alternatives that tend to keep pace with rising prices.

He warns that each new dollar printed further diminishes the buying power of existing dollars, describing the process as a “quiet robbery” on savers. By moving money into gold, property and similar assets, he argues individuals can preserve wealth against the backdrop of persistent price increases.
