Robert Kubica critiques Formula 1 complexity and driving styles

Robert Kubica has expressed concerns regarding the increasing technical complexity of modern Formula 1 cars and the impact on driving styles. Speaking during the 6 Hours of Barcelona, the Polish driver noted that heightened complexity increases the risk of mechanical issues and unexpected technical failures.

Kubica also addressed the current driving techniques required by modern machinery. He suggested that the necessity for drivers to lift off the throttle early and accelerate progressively to maintain speed contradicts the traditional DNA of what defines the world’s best Formula 1 drivers.

Reflecting on his career transition from Formula 1 to endurance racing, Kubica highlighted his success in the World Endurance Championship, including winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ferrari. He noted that while Formula 1 represents a pinnacle, his achievements in endurance racing hold significant personal value.
