Robert Kubica finishes fifth at 6h Barcelona FIA WEC race

The FIA WEC 6h Barcelona race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was heavily influenced by rain and changing track conditions.

Robert Kubica and the AF Corse crew experienced a mixed result. After starting sixth in the Hypercar category during qualifying, the team climbed to second place shortly after the start. However, due to strategic shifts by competitors and instructions to conserve fuel and tires, the team ultimately finished in fifth place.

Team Peugeot TotalEnergies faced a disappointing outing. Despite early progress in wet conditions, where Paul di Resta briefly held the lead due to a strategic pit stop timing, the team struggled as the track dried. The Peugeot nr 93 car, driven by Paul di Resta, Nick Cassidy, and Alex Quinn, finished 12th after being lapped during a neutralization, while the nr 94 car finished 13th, leaving both prototypes outside of the points.
