Robert Lewandowski set for Fenerbahce move after Chicago Fire talks falter

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract with FC Barcelona ends on 30 June, has been linked with several clubs. Turkish side Fenerbahçe revived interest, offering a three‑year deal worth about €20 million per season, despite earlier scepticism from the club’s president. Negotiations were reportedly reignited after Lewandowski’s family holiday in Turkey, with reports that he “took the transfer into his own hands.”

Earlier speculation centred on a move to MLS club Chicago Fire, which had proposed a €15‑20 million base salary plus bonuses and highlighted the appeal of the U.S. market for the 37‑year‑old. Lewandowski’s former manager Cezary Kucharski described past earnings of roughly 100 million PLN (≈ €23 million) annually, including sponsorships. The player has also been linked with a potential Saudi Arabian offer, though no concrete deal has emerged.

With Barcelona’s squad planning ahead without a confirmed successor, the outcome of Lewandowski’s decision remains a focal point for the clubs involved.
