Robert Lewandowski in talks with Chicago Fire for MLS move

Robert Lewandowski, the 37‑year‑old Polish striker, arrived in Chicago with his agent Pini Zahavi to negotiate a possible transfer to MLS side Chicago Fire. The club, owned by financier Joe Mansueto, has been pursuing the free‑agent since his contract with Barcelona expires in July.

During a weekend of meetings the Fire presented Lewandowski with a multi‑year deal reportedly offering a base salary of €15‑20 million per season, plus bonuses and a potential ownership stake after retirement. The proposal also includes family‑related benefits such as a dedicated fitness studio for his wife Anna and schooling options for their children, as well as a view of the new downtown stadium slated to open in 2028.

Chicago Fire head coach Gregg Berhalter and club executives have publicly expressed strong interest, describing the striker as a marquee signing that could raise the profile of the team and MLS. Lewandowski is said to be reviewing the offer, with a decision expected in the coming days.
