Robert Lewandowski mulls US and Saudi offers as free agent

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, whose contract with FC Barcelona ends on 30 June, remains undecided about his next club. He has been linked with a move to MLS side Chicago Fire, having visited the United States and been praised by the club’s coach, while Saudi Arabian clubs also appear in discussions. Other potential destinations mentioned include AC Milan, Juventus and Fenerbahçe.

Experts note that Lewandowski is prioritising a stable environment and preparation for the upcoming Euro 2024 over a purely financial deal. Former Olympian Wojciech Kowalczyk said the player “does not need money for its own sake” and suggested that the United States could offer family-friendly conditions and a suitable schedule ahead of the European championship. Marketing analysts also debate whether a transfer to MLS would significantly boost Lewandowski’s brand in the U.S., given the sport’s relatively modest popularity there.

The striker has not publicly confirmed any offer, and negotiations with both the Chicago Fire and Saudi interests are described as serious but ongoing.
