Robert McNally retires as Morris County Chief of Detectives
Robert McNally, the Chief of Detectives for the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, has retired following a law enforcement career spanning more than 30 years. A walk-out ceremony was held at the Morris County Administration Building to honor his service, attended by Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, First Assistant Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood, and various local law enforcement officials.
McNally’s career began after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served as a sniper team leader and completed three deployments. In 1996, he joined the U.S. Customs Service in Newark, focusing on narcotics and currency law enforcement. He later transitioned to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, where he has spent over two decades, most recently leading the investigative division as Chief of Detectives since 2023.
