Robert Moreno denies using ChatGPT to coach soccer

South Korea's new soccer coach, Robert Moreno, has addressed allegations regarding his use of artificial intelligence during his previous tenure at the Russian club Sochi. While unveiling his first 30-man roster for upcoming friendlies against Ecuador, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Uzbekistan, Moreno was forced to defend himself against claims that he relied on ChatGPT for match preparation, lineups, and recruitment.

Moreno described the allegations as “completely false” and stated that the reports had been distorted. He clarified that while he utilizes technology, video analysis, and data for coaching, he has never used ChatGPT to make tactical or personnel decisions. He noted that his only use of the AI tool while at Sochi was for translation purposes due to the language barrier.
