Youth and social movements mobilize across Africa

Various social and political movements are mobilizing across Africa. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Youth Minister Grâce Émie Kutino is campaigning for a constitutional reform to increase youth representation in decision-making institutions. This initiative, titled ‘Oui, je le veux’, aims to address the marginalization of the country's youth population. In the Ituri province, military Governor Kasongo Mulumba Batoka Gaby has called on young people to reject violence and armed groups in favor of education and community development.

In Burkina Faso, the Association Jeunes Faiseurs de Paix is conducting a ‘Peace Caravan’ to promote social cohesion and dialogue within urban districts. Additionally, government officials have visited agricultural volunteers (VDP) in Sanguié to support efforts toward national food sovereignty and agricultural production.

In Tunisia, long-term unemployed university graduates have gathered in Tunis to demand the implementation of Law No. 18 of 2025, which provides for exceptional recruitment into the civil service.
