Robert Pattinson teases ambitious direction for ‘The Batman: Part II’
Robert Pattinson has shared insights regarding the upcoming sequel, ‘The Batman: Part II’, describing it as a ‘real left turn’ from the 2022 film. While the project aims to be highly ambitious and will retain elements of the original’s distinctive atmosphere, Pattinson noted that the sequel will offer a different interpretation of the character.
Regarding the broader DC Universe (DCU) led by James Gunn, Pattinson expressed doubts about his version of Bruce Wayne fitting into that shared continuity. He cited the highly specific tone and the dark, immersive filming conditions of Matt Reeves’ standalone universe as primary reasons why a crossover would be difficult.
‘The Batman: Part II’ is currently scheduled for release on February 18, 2028. The production features a returning cast including Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, and Andy Serkis, with new additions such as Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan. While plot details remain secret, there is ongoing speculation regarding the return of Barry Keoghan as the Joker.
