Robert Pattinson discusses anxiety surrounding ‘Primetime’ premiere

Actor Robert Pattinson revealed that intense anxiety regarding the world premiere of his film ‘Primetime’ caused him to physically fall ill before the screening at the Venice Film Festival. Pattinson, who serves as both the lead actor and a producer, described the project as the most challenging work of his career.

Directed by Lance Oppenheim and produced by A24, ‘Primetime’ is set in 2006 and explores the origins and evolution of the controversial NBC Dateline program ‘To Catch a Predator’. Pattinson portrays journalist Chris Hansen. While the film has received positive reception at the festival, the real Chris Hansen has expressed certain reservations about the production and was not involved in the film’s development.

Pattinson noted that his dual role as actor and producer increased his sense of responsibility toward the project. He expressed a desire to continue pursuing risky and creatively demanding roles as he enters his 40s.
