Robert Pattinson to receive 40th American Cinematheque Award

Actor Robert Pattinson has been named the 40th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award. The honor, which recognizes significant contributions to the film industry, will be presented during a gala at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on February 9, 2027.

The award celebrates Pattinson’s two-decade career and his prolific output in 2026, which included roles in The Drama, The Odyssey, Primetime, and Dune: Part Three. He is also currently filming The Batman Part II.

American Cinematheque board chair Rick Nicita praised the actor for his dedication, creative courage, and versatility, noting his ability to work with visionary filmmakers while appearing in major studio blockbusters. Pattinson joins a distinguished list of past recipients including Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, and Denzel Washington. The award was originally intended for Ryan Gosling, but the ceremony was rescheduled after scheduling conflicts arose.
