Robert Pattinson to star in A24 film ‘Primetime’

A24 has announced the film ‘Primetime’, starring Robert Pattinson, which is scheduled for release in Japan in 2027. The film has also been officially selected for the competition section of the 83rd Venice International Film Festival.

Set in the early 2000s during the height of reality television popularity, the movie depicts the true story of journalist Chris Hansen. It focuses on his work with the NBC news program ‘Dateline NBC’ and the sensational documentary series ‘To Catch a Predator’, which used sting operations to expose individuals targeting minors.

The narrative explores the escalating tactics used by Hansen to secure major scoops and the subsequent ethical questions raised regarding journalism and morality. Pattinson portrays Hansen, with early reports highlighting his vocal mimicry of the real-life journalist. The film is directed by Lance Oppenheim and produced by Ari Aster, featuring a cast that includes Merit Wever, Skylar Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers.
