Robert Philip Ivers Convicted for Threatening Federal Judge

A federal jury in Minneapolis found 73‑year‑old Robert Philip Ivers guilty of two counts of mailing threatening communications and one count of threatening to kill a U.S. District Judge. Prosecutors said Ivers sent a manifesto titled “How to Kill a Federal Judge” to a Minneapolis law firm and the University of Saint Thomas, threatening the judge, a witness and the families of those involved in a 2018 case.

U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen said the verdict reinforces the justice system’s resolve against intimidation. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
