Robert Plant releases new EP and receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Robert Plant is expanding his exploration of roots music with the upcoming release of “Saving Grace: All That Glitters…”, a new EP scheduled for digital release on October 9 via Nonesuch Records. The four-track project, featuring the song “Two Coats,” includes traditional pieces and covers such as “Orphan Girl” by Gillian Welch and “Poison” by Bert Jansch. The EP is a continuation of Plant’s work with his ensemble, Saving Grace, a group formed in 2019 to explore folk, blues, gospel, and country music.

In a separate recognition of his career, Plant received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association during its 25th annual ceremony at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. During his acceptance speech, the singer reflected on the musical influences that shaped his six-decade career, specifically citing the importance of the American South and the shared musical themes found within both Black and white communities. He highlighted various locations, including Memphis, Clarksdale, and Como, Mississippi, as integral to the songs and stories that influenced him.
