Robert Renan expresses desire to have been trained by Vasco

Vasco da Gama defender Robert Renan expressed his desire to have been trained by the club, despite being a product of Corinthians. In an interview with VascoTV, the 23-year-old stated that while he respects the club that formed him, he wished he could have been a ‘Cria da Colina’ (a product of Vasco's youth academy).

Renan, who joined Vasco in August 2025 on loan from Zenit, noted that his entire family supports Vasco and that he always wanted to play for them when facing the team during his youth. Since arriving, he has become a regular starter, accumulating 68 official matches for the club.

The player's comments come as Vasco seeks to secure a permanent transfer. The club faces an 8 million euro purchase option to retain the defender, who previously had stints at Internacional and Al Shabab.
