Robert Shwartzman joins Peugeot for 2027 WEC season
Team Peugeot TotalEnergies has announced that Robert Shwartzman will join its Hypercar driver roster for the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship season. The 26-year-old driver returns to the WEC after competing in the NTT IndyCar Series.
Shwartzman is scheduled to participate in several test sessions with the Peugeot 9X8 throughout the remainder of the year to prepare for his 2027 debut. His arrival follows the planned departures of Stoffel Vandoorne and Malthe Jakobsen at the end of the current season, as well as Theo Pourchaire, who is expected to focus on Formula E with Opel.
Team Principal Emmanuel Esnault described Shwartzman as one of the most promising talents of his generation, noting his natural speed and adaptability as key assets for the team's future project.
