Robert Stekovic appointed as new CEO of Snabbgross

Snabbgross, a Swedish restaurant wholesaler and part of the Axfood group, has appointed Robert Stekovic as its new managing director. Stekovic will also join the Axfood executive committee.

Stekovic succeeds Eva Pettersson, who is stepping down after 22 years with the group. He is expected to take over the role by August 1, 2027, at the latest. His appointment comes as Axfood plans to integrate its wholesale and convenience retail operations under the Snabbgross business starting in early 2027.

Stekovic joins from Lidl, where he has held various leadership roles across Sweden, Denmark, Croatia, and Germany. Most recently, he served as Chief Customer Officer at Lidl Sweden. Axfood CEO Simone Margulies noted that Stekovic’s commercial drive and experience in change management will be vital for developing the company’s wholesale and service trade operations.
