Robert Virves targets WRC2 Challenger title at Rally Paraguay

Estonian driver Robert Virves has the opportunity to secure the WRC2 Challenger title at the upcoming Rally Paraguay. Virves has maintained a perfect record in the WRC2 category this season, winning his previous four rallies in Kenya, Greece, Estonia, and Finland, and currently leads the overall standings with 100 points.

In the WRC2 Challenger class, Virves holds a six-point lead over Roope Korhonen. A victory in Paraguay would mathematically guarantee him the championship regardless of his competitors' results. His primary competition in the event includes Alejandro Cachón, Gus Greensmith, and Yuki Yamamoto.

The Rally Paraguay, centered in Encarnación, is set to be the longest rally of the 2026 WRC season, covering 358.88 kilometers across 22 special stages. The terrain consists of fast, multi-cross red gravel roads that can become extremely slippery in wet conditions. Virves will be joined by Australian co-driver Gill Taylor for this event.
