Roberta Luchsinger seeks plea bargain, alleging ties between Lulinha and ministers

Lobbyist Roberta Luchsinger has announced her intention to enter a plea bargain agreement with authorities, following an interview with CNN Brasil. Luchsinger, who is being investigated by the Federal Police alongside Fábio Luís Lula da Silva (Lulinha) for suspected influence peddling, made several serious allegations against President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Luchsinger characterized the President as a “liar” and “coward,” claiming he is aware of the frequent meetings between Lulinha and various government ministers. She specifically noted that Lulinha attended meetings at the homes of ministers, including Camilo Santana. The investigations, which include Operation Sem Desconto regarding INSS fraud, are also examining potential irregularities in dealings with the Ministry of Health and Dataprev.

In response, President Lula has denied any connection or interlocution with Luchsinger, asserting that the timing of these accusations is an attempt to interfere with the democratic process ahead of the second round of elections. He defended his son, stating that Lulinha has made his bank accounts and phone available for investigation. Opposition lawmakers have called for Luchsinger's immediate inclusion in the witness protection program, citing reported death threats against her and her daughters.
