Roberta Roma discharged from hospital after heart attack

Brazilian Federal Deputy Roberta Roma (PL) has been discharged from the Hospital Cardio Pulmonar in Salvador following a myocardial infarction. The incident occurred on Saturday (26) during a campaign event in Cruz das Almas, where the deputy reported severe chest pains.

After an initial catheterization that showed no significant coronary artery lesions, Roma experienced recurring chest pains on Sunday (27). Subsequent examinations, including electrocardiograms and echocardiograms, revealed coronary artery disease. Doctors performed a second catheterization to place a stent, successfully restoring blood flow to the heart muscle.

Medical staff confirmed that the possibility of Takotsubo syndrome was ruled out. Roma is reported to be asymptomatic and in good clinical condition. She will continue outpatient follow-up with her medical team and has been advised to maintain lifestyle adjustments, including stress reduction and regular medication.
