Roberta Roma hospitalized in ICU after heart attack during campaign

Federal Deputy Roberta Roma (PL-BA) has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Hospital Cárdio Pulmonar in Salvador after suffering a heart attack. The incident occurred during a campaign event in Cruz das Almas, Bahia.

Following initial medical attention in Cruz das Almas, Roma was transferred to Salvador, where she underwent a cardiac catheterization. Her medical team reported that the procedure did not reveal significant lesions in the coronary arteries. Doctors are currently investigating the possibility of Takotsubo syndrome, also known as “broken heart syndrome.”

Roma is reported to be stable, medicated, and under continuous monitoring. Her husband, João Roma, a candidate for the Senate, stated that she will undergo further examinations. Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues also issued a message wishing the deputy a speedy recovery.
