Roberth Rouw advocates for TOD housing in industrial and fishing zones

Roberth Rouw, Vice Chairman of Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), is advocating for the expansion of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) concepts beyond urban centers. During a visit to the Samesta Mahata Serpong apartment in Tangerang Selatan, Rouw emphasized that TOD-based housing should be extended to industrial zones, ports, and fishing communities.

He noted that integrated housing provides significant benefits for low-income communities, such as workers in Jakarta, by offering affordable and efficient access to public transportation. Rouw specifically highlighted the need to provide decent housing for port workers and fishermen, suggesting that such developments should be paired with empowerment efforts to support these vulnerable economic sectors.
