Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa responds to KJ Apa's cameo interest for Afterlife with Archie

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has expressed interest in including KJ Apa in the upcoming Disney+ series ‘Afterlife with Archie’. The response follows Apa’s recent comments to Entertainment Weekly, where he mentioned his desire to make a cameo in the project after having previously spoken with Aguirre-Sacasa.

In an Instagram interaction, Aguirre-Sacasa responded to Apa by stating, “I’m CERTAIN we can figure something out.” While this does not constitute an official casting announcement, it indicates a positive openness to the actor’s participation.

The series is a live-action adaptation of the horror comic by Aguirre-Sacasa and Francesco Francavilla, produced by Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions. The story follows a zombie outbreak in the Archie universe triggered by the resurrection of the character’s dog, Hot Dog. Apa, who played Archie Andrews for seven seasons on ‘Riverdale’, noted his excitement to see the new casting for the series.
