Roberto Alvarado reflects on emotional moments during 2026 World Cup

Mexican footballer Roberto Alvarado shared emotional reflections regarding his experience during the 2026 World Cup. Speaking on the podcast ‘Cracks y Mortales’, the Chivas player revealed that his most moving moment was not during the playing of the national anthem, but rather while traveling to the stadium.

Alvarado stated that seeing the massive crowds of fans lining the streets, cheering and shouting for the Mexican national team as the team bus passed by, nearly brought him to tears. He noted that the overwhelming support from the public during these commutes was a highlight of the tournament.

Despite the team's exit from the competition, Alvarado was recognized as one of the top ten most creative players of the tournament. He admitted to having difficulty recognizing his own high level of performance at the time, though he expressed pride in his individual contribution following the event.
