Roberto Baradel announces candidacy for CTA-T presidency

Roberto Baradel has officially announced his candidacy for the presidency of the Central de Trabajadores de la Argentina (CTA-T) in the upcoming elections scheduled for November 3. This move signals a significant leadership transition for the organization, as Baradel seeks to succeed Hugo Yasky, who has led the central body for 20 years.

Baradel, a teacher leader and former general secretary of SUTEBA, currently serves as the deputy secretary of CTERA. His candidacy comes amid rising tensions between labor organizations and national government policies, as well as concerns regarding declining real wages.

The proposed national list includes several prominent union figures. Edgardo Llano of the Asociación del Personal Aeronáutico and Daniel “Tano” Catalano of ATE Capital are slated for the positions of Deputy General Secretaries. Additionally, Enrique Rosito of AGTSyP will continue in the National Communication Secretariat, and Virginia Bouvet is proposed to lead the Social Action Secretariat.
