Roberto Battaglia elected Vice President of Gran Sasso Chamber of Commerce

Roberto Battaglia, an agricultural entrepreneur and former provincial president of the Italian Farmers Confederation (CIA) for L’Aquila and Teramo, has been elected Vice President of the Camera di Commercio del Gran Sasso d’Italia. The appointment was made by the Chamber's Board to complete its governance structure and support the economic development of the L’Aquila and Teramo provinces.

President Antonella Ballone welcomed the appointment, noting that Battaglia’s professional experience and balance will be assets in addressing future challenges. Battaglia stated his focus will be on increasing local business competitiveness and highlighting the excellence of both territories.

However, the appointment has sparked tension between the two provinces. Confindustria L’Aquila Abruzzo Interno has expressed dissatisfaction regarding the distribution of leadership roles. Ezio Rainaldi, president of the L’Aquila industrialists, suggested that the recent voting outcome necessitates a reconsideration of the current territorial balance and the continued participation of the L’Aquila system within the interprovincial chamber entity.
