Buzeira and Rodrigo Morgado granted release in Narco Bet investigation

The TRF-3 court has granted habeas corpus to digital influencer Bruno Alexssander Souza Silva, known as Buzeira, and businessman Rodrigo de Paula Morgado, allowing them to respond to criminal proceedings in freedom. Both individuals were arrested in October 2025 as part of the Narco Bet operation, a Federal Police investigation into a massive money laundering scheme linked to the international drug trafficking activities of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) criminal faction.

Investigators allege that the scheme utilized online betting platforms, illegal internet raffles, and shell companies to launder funds. Specifically, the Federal Police suspect that Buzeira acted as a 'legitimate face' for the operation, allegedly receiving R$ 19.7 million from Morgado, who is identified as a key financial operator for the PCC.

While the court granted release to both due to excessive preventive detention time, Morgado will remain in custody due to a separate arrest warrant issued by the Rio de Janeiro Court. Buzeira's release is subject to precautionary measures, including the use of an electronic ankle monitor and a ban on leaving the country.
